Maxell’s DVPRO delivers enhanced reliability and durability with a low error rate. Newly developed for the professional video market for use in HDV and DV systems, this format realizes recording and playback of high definition video on a 1/4 inch (6.35mm) DV cassette tape.

Enhanced Reliability and Durability

Maxell’s DVPRO tape for HDV and DV achieves superior image quality and outstanding performance across a wide variety of applications. Maxell has applied its many years of videocassette tape development expertise and numerous advanced tape technologies to create a durable and reliable magnetic tape and shell that both HDV and DV demands. With the introduction of a new robust lubricant and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) film with extra thickness, the durability of the tape is dramatically boosted in various environments, and in repetitive situations such as high-speed playback, editing and rewinding. This rugged durability provides for improved short wavelength output, decreased noise and minimized spacing loss with the video head. In addition, the cassette is housed in a specially designed PP storage case that effectively resists dust, heat and shock.

Low Error Rate and Headwear

With DVPRO tape for HDV and DV high output is also achieved together with a superior binder that ensures long-term reliability and excellent lubricating performance, which even after repeated use maintains a low error rate. Also, Maxell’s dry lubricant not only helps to prevent headwear (-4μm after 500H), but also prevents head clogs and significantly extends head life.
